Our Mission

Fox Valley Farms works to prevent and reduce housing insecurity for individuals, families, and their pets through coordinated services, compassionate support, and community partnerships. We help facilitate the move from crisis toward stability through a combination of outreach, resource navigation, animal care, and compassion for others.

Vision

We envision a community where no one has to choose between keeping their pet and finding safe housing—a community in which people and pets are supported as family, where resources are accessible, and where housing stability is achievable for everyone.

Our vision is a future where:

• Every person has a safe place to call home.
• Every companion animal is cared for and secure.
• Barriers faced by people experiencing homelessness with pets are understood and removed.
• Support systems work together — not in silos — to serve the whole household.
• Compassion, dignity, and connection guide every interaction.

Our History

Founded in 2015, Fox Valley Farms has helped people and pets throughout North Carolina. We were one of the first nonprofits in the United States to blend programs to help both people and pets find stable, safe housing. Today, we continue to make a difference by tackling the housing crisis in our community.

What We Do

Support for People Experiencing Homelessness

Building Hope works directly with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. We connect individuals and families with the resources they need to achieve stability, including coordinated entry navigation, housing assistance, benefits support, transportation, and basic-needs services.

We meet people where they are—with dignity and without judgment. By providing both proactive and reactive services, we strive to help people and pets find a solution to the housing crisis in our communities.

Animal Rescue & Pet Support

We provide rescue services, foster care, emergency pet boarding, veterinary assistance, training, and supplies to companion animals whose families are experiencing crisis or housing instability. We specialize in rescuing and rehabilitating “aggressive”, abused, and neglected domestic pets.

People + Pets Together Program

Many local systems serve either people or animals. We serve both. Our unique program supports households with pets so they can:

• Stay together during times of crisis
• Access shelter and services without separation
• Move safely toward long-term stability

Community Partnerships

We collaborate with Guilford County’s Continuum of Care, shelters, outreach teams, service providers, and animal organizations throughout NC to create seamless support for the whole household.
